We don’t mean we have been testing the #microbrew beer before the Brewskis and Brats on September 1st! We have beautiful lights up along the old pillars that let folks know, “We are back open! Come on in! All are welcome at the Deerfield Inn!”
First Paul removed the turf and soil and scooped out the most perfect trenches. Passers-by stopped to peer into them. People seem to love holes in the ground.
Then Caleb and Steve came by to bend and install piping and electricity leads to the lights – stage lights with a narrow but brilliant beam.
They all shoveled back in the dirt, and Paul and his sidekick Watson tamped back and watered the sod.
The lights went on as dusk fell, and guests arrived out of the blue, so to speak, having seen the Champney’s sign lit up.
Thank you, gentlemen, for the wonderful job you did, for being so efficient and so cheerful in the heat of the day.
Thank you, Watson, for your great assistance in your on-site supervisory capacity.
