The INNKEEPER, or co-Innkeepers, administers the DEERFIELD INN with Champney’s Restaurant, for its parent organization Historic Deerfield, Inc., in Deerfield, MA. The Deerfield Inn is a 24-room, 4-star, full-service country inn with a restaurant, tavern, and function business. The Innkeepers are responsible for all aspects of the business and administer a full-time and seasonal staff while maintaining operational and hospitality standards.
- Oversight of all guest services
- Hotel and rates management
- Restaurant and kitchen management
- Private dining and special events
- Creativity in marketing and advertisement, and social media management
- Close attention to customer satisfaction metrics and staff performance
- Staff training
- HR management
- Office management, capital and annual operating budgets, inventories
- Knowledge of Hospitality Systems Management (Micros, RoomMaster, etc)
- Decoration and design
- Performance of tasks as required and requested
The Innkeeper reports to the Director of Finance.
Requirements: Minimum 10 years of experience in hospitality with an emphasis on food and beverage. Professional training in the hospitality business is desirable.
Benefits: The employment package/contract can include housing at Historic Deerfield, Inc., which participates in a TIAA-CREF retirement plan. Persons already enrolled in TIAA-CREF or who have been employed for two years by a not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization may transfer to Historic Deerfield’s plan in which the institution pays half (5% of salary) and the individual pays half (5% of salary). Others must wait two years for eligibility. Historic Deerfield offers a health maintenance organization plan and a dental insurance plan. In each, Historic Deerfield pays 90% of individual coverage or 50% of family coverage. Historic Deerfield offers long-term disability insurance in which the employee pays 25% and Historic Deerfield pays 75%. Other benefits include paid vacation, paid holidays and paid sick time. AA/EOE
