450 Years of Artisan Cheese in New England

By: Jane Howard | On: July 5, 2013

cheesebeerCheese expert and author Jeff Roberts from NECI came to give a wonderful scamper through four centuries of American cheese.

We just wanted to give a shout-out to the cheese-makers and the microbreweries that provided such beautiful pairings.

Renaissance Ricotta from Pattie & Mark Federico of Narragansett Creamery in Providence, RI with Narragansett Brewing Company’s American-style light lager
Stracciatella from Lourdes Fiore Smith of Fiore di Nonno in Somerville, MA with Allagash White, a Belgian-style wheat beer from Allagash Brewing Company in ME

Danse de la Lune from Paul Trubey at Beltane Farm in Lebanon, CT with Finest Kind India Pale Ale from Smuttynose of Portsmouth, NH

Summer Snow from Gari & Mark Fisher of Woodcock Farm in Weston, VT with Extra Special Oak, a strong ale from Element Brewing Company in Millers Falls, MA

Landaff from Debbie & Doug Erb of Landaff Creamery, Landaff, NH with Stovepipe Porter by Otter Creek Brewing Company in Middlebury, VT

And an encore with Jeremy Stephenson’s Tarentaise. Jeremy’s Spring Brook Farm is in Reading, VT

New England is seventh heaven for cheese-lovers and microbrew aficionados like us!
